The General Bylaws of the Town of Sterling authorizes the Planning Board to adopt reasonable rules and regulations for the protection of scenic roads, through MGL Chapter 40 Section 15C.
After any road been designated a Scenic Road, any work on the road may not involve the cutting or removal of trees or the tearing down or destruction of stone walls without consent of the Planning Board. The Planning Board adopted the Regulations for the Designation of Scenic Roads and Alterations of Trees and Stone Walls on March 31, 2004.
