What evidence do I need to present to the Board of Assessors?

No evidence is required.  Every abatement application is taken seriously with an eye towards insuring that you are paying no more than your fair share of town taxes based on a fair and equitable valuation.

Our assessor will likely call you for a property inspection. Following the inspection, he or she will make corrections to your property record and recalculate the value.  Your assessment will then be reviewed in light of comparable sales.

Of course, you are free to submit any information you might have that supports your claim of overvaluation.
