Absentee / Early Voting Ballots are Now Available for the June 29, 2020 Sterling Annual Town Election

On March 23, 2020, the Governor signed into law Chapter 45 of the Acts of 2020, which is “An Act granting authority to postpone 2020 municipal elections in the Commonwealth and increase voting options in response to the declaration of emergency to respond to COVID-19.”  You may view the law in its entirety by clicking here: CHAPTER 45 OF THE ACTS OF 2020
This new law states that “For an election held on or before June 30, 2020 any person taking precaution related to COVID-19 in response to a declared state of emergency or guidance from a medical professional, local or state health official, or any civil authority shall be deemed unable by reason of physical disability to cast their vote in person at a polling location.”
Therefore, ANY REGISTERED VOTER in the Town of Sterling may use this application to request an Absentee Ballot for the Annual Town Election scheduled for June 29, 2020.
Applications may be mailed or dropped in the drop box at the Butterick Municipal Building, or it may be faxed or emailed, as long as your signature is captured (either by photo or scan) and is clear that it was signed by human hand (no digital signatures may be accepted at this time).

Absentee or Early Voting Ballots must be returned to the Town Clerk (NOT the polling place) by the close of polls on the day of the Annual Town Election, Monday, June 29, 2020.  You may return by mail, or drop in the drop box at 1 Park Street.
The polls will be open from 12:00pm to 7:00pm on Monday, June 29, 2020 to cast a ballot in person.
