2019 Dog License Applications have been mailed to all households along with the Annual Town Census. According to our Town’s bylaws, dogs must be licensed by April 15th each year. Due to the Patriot’s Day holiday, the deadline for 2019 will be extended to April 16th. After this date, a $25.00 late fee (PER DOG) will be applied to the licensing fee.
Please let us know if your dog has passed so that we may update our records accordingly.
Three easy ways to pay for your dog license:
- IN PERSON at the Town Clerk’s Office during regular business hours Monday-Thursday 7:30am through 5:00pm and Friday 7:30am through 11:30am.
- BY MAIL, or DROP OFF (in the secure drop box in front of the Butterick Municipal Building). Send a current rabies certificate, the application form, and a check made payable to the “Town of Sterling” to the Town Clerks Office, 1 Park St. Sterling, MA 01564. If you wish for your tag(s) to be delivered to you by mail, please include an additional $2. Otherwise, you may pick them up at the Clerk’s Office at your convenience.
- New this year: Go to www.doglicenses.us/MA/Sterling/ to pay with a credit card. (A convenience fee of $2 will be added to the order.) Use the “Renew” option to enter the number from your dog’s 2018 tag on his collar and verify that nothing has changed. Or choose the “New License” option if your dog is new to you, or you do not know the 2018 tag number.
PROOF OF CURRENT RABIES VACCINATION IS REQUIRED FOR ALL LICENSES.
Certificates may be dropped off, mailed, faxed to 978-422-0289, or emailed (scan/photo) to: AsstTownClerk@sterling-ma.gov
There will be a Rabies Vaccination Clinic on Saturday, March 9th at the VCA Sterling Animal Hospital at 4 Clinton Rd (Rt. 62).
