Roads and Sidewalks

Description

The Highway Department of the DPW maintains 120 town roads (approximately 95 miles.). Town road maintenance includes, but is not limited to:

road and edge repair
street and sidewalk sweeping
pothole patching
stop/crosswalk/center-line painting
road sign placement\replacement.
snow and ice removal
replace damaged and missing street signs
paving
cleaning and maintenance of catch basins and drop inlets (over 1700)
removal of dead animals from roadways
maintenance of approximately 280 cross road drainage culverts
grass mowing and brush removal on edge of road
road sweeping of winter sand
Remove beaver dams from culverts
