The DPW maintains approx.7.5 acres of parks including Sholan Park on Lake Waushacum and the Memorial Area behind the fire station.  The DPW also maintains 65+ acres of playgrounds and athletic fields, including 11 baseball fields, 4 soccer fields, and 1 combination football/soccer field.  All fields have bleachers and port-a-potties and/or restroom facilities. 

Sholan Park  

Sholan Park features picnic tables, fireplaces and charcoal grills available for use during the summer season. There is also a sand volleyball court (bring your own volleyball) and a paved half court basketball court. There is  a boat ramp at the end of Hall Ave. next to Sholan Park. If you plan to utilize Lake Waushacum for boating we strongly urge you to take a safe boating class from either the US Coast Guard Auxiliary or the US Power Squadron (US Coast Guard Auxiliary Boating Safety Info).

Parking (car or trailer) at the Park is limited to Town residents and pre-permitted guests ONLY (all others will be ticketed). To obtain a resident pass or guest pass, please contact the Recreation Department or read through their policies and procedures.

Memorial Park

Memorial Park is the site of our Memorial Day and Veterans Day formal ceremonies. It has a gazebo in one corner and the Recreation Dept. holds various functions there also.

Athletic & Recreation Fields

Griffin Road Fields:  5 baseball/softball fields, 3-4 soccer fields, and 1 football field that has a scoreboard and lighting system.

Muddy Pond Road Fields: 2 small baseball fields that are sometimes used for soccer and football practice.

Redstone Hill Fields:   2 small baseball fields. Fields are accessed by entering Hillside Cemetery on Clinton Road and through the driveway behind the cemetery.

West Sterling Fields:   2 baseball fields (Major/Minor league fields) and 2 tennis/pickle-ball courts. Fields are located on the corner of Holden Road and Princeton Road
