Gasfitting Permit & Fee Schedule

Individuals that perform gas work in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts must be licensed.

All licensed persons must register with the Town’s Building Department and provide a Certificate of Insurance prior to beginning any work. No permits will be given unless there is a currently valid license and Certificate of Insurance on file. A Workers' Compensation Insurance Affidavit must accompany all permit applications.

The Plumbing Code requires a rough inspection and a finish inspection on all new construction.  All additional inspections required by the Inspector will be $75.00 per inspection.

Work begun without a permit is subject to double the permit fee and re-inspections are $75 per infraction.

Inspections:  To schedule an inspection, please call 978-422-6542  Tuesday and Thursday mornings between 7:00 am to 7:30 am.  Inspections will be done Tuesday and Thursday mornings, 8:00 am to 12:00.  Your permit number is required.
