Lost & Found Pets

If you have lost or found an animal please contact Sterling Police at 978-422-7331, don't wait, call right away!

The ACO can quickly idenfity the owner of a lost animal by microchip scan. If your pet has a microchip, make sure to keep your contact information updated with the microchip company. A dog can also be identified quickly through licensing. Whenever your dog is out, ensure they have a collar with their license attached. It's the law and it helps get your dog back to you quickly and safely.

An excellent resource for Lost/Missing Animals is Missing Dogs Massachusetts.

Any animals that are found are taken to the Sterling Police Department where they are scanned for a chip. They are housed in the station temporarily while the owner is identified and contacted. If the owner cannot be identified or found or the animal comes in after hours, the animal will be taken to the Worcester Animal Rescue League.
