Residents of the seven Wachusett towns of Boylston, Holden, Paxton, Princeton, Rutland, Sterling and West Boylston may bring recycling and bulk items to the collections.

Wachusett Earthday, the Department of Conservation and Recreation and the seven Towns are partners in the regional collection center.

Collection Schedule
The Wachusett Watershed Regional Recycling Center will be open for General Collections:

every Wednesday
(except Wednesday before Thanksgiving)
2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
3rd Saturday of the month
8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

General Recycling Items Collected For Free
Paper, cardboard, glass containers (rinsed) , plastics #1 - #7,#6 styrofoam (cleaned & bagged), packing peanuts (in bags), metal cans (rinsed), returnable bottles and cans, all batteries including lead-acid, rechargeable, ni-cad, alkaline, button & lithium, mercury switches, thermostats, thermometers, fluorescent tubes, CFL bulbs, holiday & craft items, cell phones, bicycles, clothing, books, good condition linens and small household goods, electronics and computer parts (except monitors, which have a fee.)
Used motor oil is collected on Household Hazardous Product Collection days only. No fee - but it must not be mixed with any other product.

Reusable furniture and appliances: If you believe the furniture or appliance is still in usable condition please tell the Earthday volunteer when you drop it off, and we will attempt to place it with someone who can reuse it. The fee will still apply in case we have to dispose of the item.

Bicycles: The Center accepts bicycles to be passed onto children and families in need in the region.

Directions:  I-190, Exit 5, north one block on Route 140 to light, left on Legg Road and travel 0.8 mile to the entrance on the right. Or Laurel Street, West Boylston or Manning Street, Holden to Raymond Huntington Highway (parallel with I-190 at Holden/West Boylston town line), and travel 0.9 mile to the entrance on the left.
