Students will learn the fundamentals of the forehand, backhand, volley, and serve with emphasis on correct grip and techniques, with primary focus on stroke production. KIDS ZUMBA-YOGA

Each 1 hour class BEGINS WITH 30-MINUTES OF Zumba-the hottest craze in fitness right now. Zumba combines Latin inspired upbeat music with simple dance moves to get the children’s hearts pumping. They’ll have so much fun, they won’t even realize they’re getting a terrific cardiovascular workout! The students will unwind with 30-minutes of Yoga, including techniques for breathing, kid-friendly balancing poses, and Savasana (the practice of relaxing physically and mentally). Your children will exercise their bodies and minds in a positive, non-competitive environment… And they will love it!! Bring a yoga mat and water bottle. Instructor Kate Mellecker
INTRODUCTION TO KAYAKING –YOUTH

Introduction to kayak for Youths provides kids the chance to learn exciting new skills. This youth specific kayaking class teaches the same skills and safety considerations as our adult program but in a kid friendly format. Kayak games and activities will be used to give kids the needed practice while keeping them active and engaged.
ALL REQUIRED EQUIPMENT AND INSTRUCTION IS PROVIDED BY STILLRIVER OUTFITTERS, INC. FOR ALL THE PROGRAMS LISTED.

DIVISION I– grade 1 coed, instructional with skill work & games on Saturday morning
DIVISION II-coed grades 2 & 3, skill work and games with emphasis on instruction. Meet on Saturday mornings
and Monday or Tuesday evening.
DIVISION III G– Girls in grades 4 & 5. Practice/games Monday or Tuesday, or Friday evenings and some
Saturdays (2 times/week) Some games may be played in West Boylston on Saturdays
DIVISION III B-For Boys in grades 4 & 5. Practice/games Monday or Tuesday or Friday evenings and some
Saturdays.(2 times/week)
DIVISION IV– Girls in grades 6-8, Practice/games Wednesday, Thursday and some Fridays. Some games may be
played in West Boylston.
DIVISION V– Boys in grades 6-8. , Practice/games Wednesday, Thursday and some Fridays
*Divisions II, III, IV, & V meet at least 2 times a week for practice/games
PRESEASON GAMES -Division IIIG, IIIB, IV, and V will be held to assist coaches in the team selection process.
(see dates below). Players MUST attend at least 1 to be placed on a team.
Division IV & V will not pick teams until the Chocksett Middle School Eagle’s team has been selected. The last day to
register for these divisions is December 13 (this date is subject to change due to the selection of the Eagles team)
Late Registrants in all divisions will be placed on a wait list if necessary. Every team will be held to 10 players unless all coaches in a division are in agreement.
**Players must register for WYBB before participating in Pre-Season Games.
**Pre –season games will only be held if required number of coaches are available
BASKETBALL COACHES AND ASSISTANTS
Anyone interested in coaching or assisting for a youth basketball team must fill out a CORI(Criminal Offender Record Information) form at the Recreation Office.
No person will be allowed to coach/assist without the completed documentation. Applicants need to verify identity with photographic identification.
TEAMS WILL NOT BE FORMED UNTIL THE REQUIRED NUMBER OF DIVISION COACHES ARE AVAILABLE

If players in division IV & division V make the school team and choose not to play Recreational Basketball, we will refund the player provided they contact the Rec Dept. within 2 business days of making the team. Otherwise there are no refunds unless the program is full.
