POLICE MATRON
Town of Sterling
The police department is seeking individuals to serve as police matrons. The position of matron is responsible for visually monitoring prisoners held in the custody of the Sterling Police Department. The matron may also be required to search prisoners, accompany officers to the hospital or court with persons in custody.
Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age.
- Candidates should be certified in CPR.
- Have reliable transportation.
- Maintain a current working telephone.
- Will be required to take a suicide prevention class.
- Will be instructed on handcuffing techniques.
- Will be instructed in searching of prisoners
- No significant criminal record.
The position requires nighttime and weekend hours. Availability will be a major factor in determining hiring.
