To all Sterling Residents: After review of the current Reverse 911 activation, it was realized that not all Sterling residents subscribe to either Verizon or Comcast as their primary phone service. In order for the system to reach as many residents as possible in an emergency, and if you are not a Verizon or Comcast subscriber, you may provide the necessary information for the phone system you use (hard line or cell) to the Sterling Dispatch
Center at (978) 422-7331. You will need to provide your name, address and phone number so that it can be manually added to the database.
In addition, the Town of Sterling website www.sterling-ma.gov offers residents the ability to subscribe to news links that would include emergency notices such as the Boil Water Notice recently experienced in town. The “News and Notices” subscription provided valuable links to not only the notice but to suggested actions as well.
